What is a good age to start children on a woodwind instrument?
From our experience 8-9 years is the preferred starting age.
Do you offer group lessons?
Yes we do. Placement in a group is dependent on standard and availability.
How long are the lessons?
Individual lessons start at 30 minutes then go to 40+minutes as the student progresses.
Group lessons are for 40 minutes.
Should I buy or hire an instrument?
Entirely up to the individual’s situation. We would suggest buying if possible either new or second hand. You can buy a good second hand clarinet for $300-400, alto saxophone for $900-$1500 and flute for $300-400. Please talk to us before you make any decisions to ensure you are buying or renting an instrument of adequate quality.

Where are the lessons held?
In our beautiful Park Orchards studio.
Do you prepare students for exams?
If that is the desire of the parent and student we can do that. We have end of term performances each term to provide students opportunities to showcase their progress.
How many lessons are taught each term?
This will depend on the length of the term. Generally we teach the length of the term minus two lessons to allow some flexibility in the schedule.
